Pointing to the Redeemer: The Book of Ruth
The Old Testament contains many scripture passages and stories that point to the Redeemer, Savior of the world, our Lord Jesus Christ. The Book of Ruth is one such story. Even in an ancient culture so different from our own, we see how God uses this story to point toward Jesus, God’s beloved Son, the One to redeem all humanity. The story also reveals God’s love and compassion for a world full of sorrow.
“…Blessed be he by the LORD, whose kindness has not forsaken the living or the dead.” (Ruth 2:20)
During March we continue our study in the book of Ruth and notice the way God uses the kindness and care of others to show the Lord’s character and reveal God’s ultimate purpose of redemption through Jesus Christ. The faithfulness and compassion of these in the story inspire us to demonstrate the same.
Join us for this interesting study and good conversation each Sunday at 11:30. We meet on the top floor of Parish Hall. An elevator is available for easy access.

More Like Jesus
To be more like Jesus should be the aim of every believer. Faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control are fruit of the Spirit that make it possible for us to be “conformed to the image of his Son.” (Romans 8:29) Please join us as we study together and encourage one another to become more like Christ.
Who is God the Holy Spirit?
The True Spirit of Christmas
“…The Holy Spirit will come upon you…” (Luke 1:35)
The Holy Spirit played an integral role in the birth of Jesus Christ. Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth, Zechariah, and Simeon, among others, all knew the Spirit’s power and leading as each played a part in the coming of the Christ child. As a result, the Spirit fruit of love, joy, and peace was evident in their lives, as it can be for us.
“The Spirit will guide you into all truth.” (John 16:13a)
The Holy Spirit may be the most neglected and misunderstood person of the Holy Trinity. God the Father and God the Son seem more relatable and easier to embrace. The lessons for September and October will focus on the person and work of the Holy Spirit and the privilege we have as believers to access this “power from on high.”
If we live by the Spirit, let us be guided by the Spirit. (Galatians 5:25)
Our study of the Holy Spirit continues as we consider the fruit of the Spirit. This is the evidence of our lives; that we truly belong to Jesus Christ and are directed and empowered by the Spirit to show.

Lessons from last year
Joseph and God’s Grace
“Even though you intended to do harm to me, God intended it for good…”
(Genesis 50:20a)
Joseph, favorite son of Jacob, lived a life of challenges and privilege. By God’s redeeming grace, Joseph was used to support and protect the people of God’s covenant and was a righteous leader in the land of Egypt. During May, we will conclude our study in the book of Genesis and once again be reminded that grace abounds for God’s glory and our lasting good.
